111 BAS problems, I think I done done it now!!!

Hey guys! I am new to this forum and just started tinkering with my 111FCXP3 in 7mm Rem Mag. Well I think I screwed up. I wanted to disassemble the bolt to clean since Ive never done it and my gun has the bolt lock key feature. It preventing me form getting the allen wrench in there deep enough to get a good bite. Well I knew from researching it would be stiff so I put the torque to her and it went off center and rounded out the key slot a bit. Now it wont bite at all and the damn spring loaded thing in there wont let me get deeper. What now? Thanks!!!!

Slide the cocking piece off the notch and down the ramp (the button on the side) essentially de-cocking the bolt (Savages are cocked on lift so when you take it out of the gun it is already cocked).

The pin that is stopping you from using the wrench will go with it and expose the entire region for your allen wrench.

When you re-assemble be sure to have it back in the notch or it won't slide into the receiver.

Not sure what you mean by "the bolt lock key feature." However, after making sure the chamber is really, really, empty, and then pointing the gun in a safe direction, pull the trigger to dry fire the rifle. That moves the firing pin forward (the back of the firing pin is what sticks through the hexshaped hole in the bolt action screw (BAS)) and will provide you with a much deeper hex-shaped hole into which you can fit an allen wrench.
