    Jeweled Breech

I just bought a Model 99 EG. The only thing I wish it had was the Jeweled breech that other year models have. Is there anyway for the non-jeweled breech to be replaced with a jeweled one? Is this something that a local gunsmith can do? Are parts like this even around anymore? Thank you.

Jeweled bolt? Any reasonably competent smith or machinist could jewel (actually engine turn) the bolt. You could too - sure there are videos on Youtube etc.

I wouldn't go swaping bolts though - easy way to screw up headspace.

BTW - the engine turned bolt is a later feature. If you have an early (pre war?) rifle, it just isn't right for them.
