    Old 22 Longrifle

Ran across an old 22. It had no serial number or model number on it. It did say Savage on it. It also had what looked like a round knurled nut on the front of the barrel. The safety wrapped around the rear of the action and pulled up and pushed down. It had patent dates on it from 1914 to 1917. It is also clip fed. What can anyone tell me about this. Would it be worth buying.

Is it a bolt action? Probably a model 23 if so.

I think it might be a model 1922 but you'd have to find out what the serial number is for me to know for sure.
    Savage- "never say never".

I looked and couldn't find any numbers. Where would they be.
