    .223 Predator

I have one of these rifles and it shoots pretty good.
Almost any load I put in it it will shoot 1/2"-3/4" which is great.
Every now and then I will get a 1/4"-3/8" group.
I've shot a lot of different powder and bullets.
My rifle seems to like 55 Vmax and Varget the best.
I was thinking about Pillar Bedding the rifle because it doesn't have the AccuStock?
What are yalls thoughts on Pillar Bedding this rifle?

    Thanks

Why would you pillar bed a coyote rifle that shoots half inch groups? Seems like the group sizes are always smaller on the net. I have this rifle and I had to work my butt off to get it to group. The real problem is the flex in the stock,if you want better groups I would look at a new stock. As is, its a coyote killing machine if you do your part.

I just won't to see if I can get it better!
I have had several others tell me to get another stock which I don't want to do!
Just ask if it would make groups bettter?

    Thanks

I'd leave it alone and use the money saved from pillar bedding to buy more of its favourite projectiles.
    Cheers...

Martyg...just because you can type doesn't mean you should post.
The first thing you posted in this thread was borderline insulting and the last was downright uncalled for.
You have the rifle? How hard would it have been for you to post?
"Don't bother it is already pillar bedded from the factory."

Martyg.....I'm agreeing with Cgerogemo. All the guy was asking was for some input from the people here who shoot thousands of rounds a year from their beloved Savages if they thought it would help if he pillar bedded his new rifle.

Now you come out of the gate and insult the man like your the cat's meow. I'm thinkin your more the cat's furball stuck in his throat. > If you want to see scary....look in a shiny spoon. I doubt you own a mirror.

This is a pic of a 5 shot, 100 yard group from my new Savage .223 Predator Carbine that i shot the other day.

Group sizes are not always smaller on the net. Just smaller than what you can shoot maybe?

Dave, is there two shots in the middle hole or two in the one out of the group on the edge of the yellow? Both holes look like they could be a twofer. Just curious. Not bad from a new barrel. Your handloads?

69gr Sierria MK Federal Factory load

69gr Sierra MK 25gr Varget. (Not as good as the 24.7gr. Varget, but worth a try)

    75gr. Hornady Match 23.4gr Varget. I'm impressed!!

I have the H4895, but I'll have to use Win primers. I'll give it a go and see what it groups like. Thanks for the info.
