    Ejection problems

I finished my 6mm BR build a short while ago. One thing I am not happy with is the way it ejects. Its a single shot. It wants to do what its supposed to do and throw the brass if I work the bolt fast. If I work it slow it stars to eject and about half way out the extractor claw slips off the brass. What can be done? What does a factory single shot do? I have made no modifications to the bolt. Is there something I can do to make it not grab and throw the brass.

There have been a couple of fixes posted on here.
One is to buy a new extractor and install it.
The second one I've seen is to get a slightly larger ball bearing for under the extractor to take some of the slop out of the extractor.
For parts the extractor can be ordered from a number of online sites while the bb I saw mentioned was in a post from Sharpshooter and he's have them at his site.

    ???

Maybe I'm reading this wrong but you want it to drop the brass in the chamber and NOT eject it?

I would NOT modify the extractor, that is what pulls the case from the chamber. The ejector (the little pin and spring in the bolt head) is what you want to change. If I read it right, you just do not want to pull the bolt back quickly and have the brass go flying?

If that is the case, you might be able to slowly file the length of the ejector pin until you get the desired ejection distance, or you could little by little snip a half coil at a time off the ejector spring. I think if it does not eject at all, the case might be tricky to get away from the extractor.

If you do not want it to eject at all, just remove the pin and spring altogether. The extractor will pull it from the chamber, but the round will not eject.

Personally I would just snip the spring a little at a time until I got it where I wanted it.

I never paind any attention to how my mod 12 does it. I haven't put very many rounds through it.

Mark up the cad file to show the modifications you recommend.

Most people want to eject the brass, or have it held onto the bolt. If you just want it to drop off in the chamber, then just cut the ejector spring back a few coils.

I have mine fixed to extract but not eject. Single shot anyway so why not pick the brass and drop one on the loading tray, Don't get dirt inside and it don't throw it all over the place.

Yes, that is what I should have said. "Extract only, not eject." Thats what I want mine to do.

On my 6 br, removed ejector, when bolt is pulled back extractor holds brass to bolt face.
