I am looking to build a long range hunting rig

I want a 338 edge but i want it in a hunting rig setup I currently have a 338 win mag braked and wa wondering can I just get this barrel re-chambered in 338 edge and use it single shot?? the current barrel is a heavy magnum contour??

I took a Savage 7mmMag and put a 338 Edge barrel on it with a SSS heavy recoil lug. No problems, and it's a tack driver!
