    conversion to internal magazine box.

Was wondering if someone out there could help me out.. I bought a nice 308 from someone and I believe it is a model 10 and has a hinged floor plate and a accutrigger. I wanted to put this in a laminated stock and was wondering what I need to do or if I can turn this into an internal magazine?

    Thanks

Is it a centerfeed? Check Boyds website for Savage stocks and look to see if thier stocks can be used as blind magazines with your action. Any blind magazine can be modified to take bottom metal for a detachable Magazine or floor plate.

Sounds like your Model 10 is centerfeed since it has a HFP. You can just remove the magazine box and follower from the floorplate and use in a blind magazine centerfeed stock. You can use a couple of small wood screws in the slots on each side of the magazine box to hold it in place for consistent feeding, since the spring loaded follower tends to push the box around in the stock well and up against the action.
