I think the 722 was Remy's first rifle for it. For 40-50 gr a 12-twist would be fine.
I am planning to build a triple deuce , what twist & length barrel would be best for 40 to 50 gr bullets. What was being used back when they were being used for benchrest competition.

I'm a firm believer in the theory that if it bleeds, I can kill it.
The old BR rifles was chambered in 1 in 14 twist with a 21-22" long barrel.
