    Hog kill w/Model10

Hi all! Thought I would share. After chasing hogs around all day at Superior Game Ranch, I finally got the shot I wanted. Model 10 Predator Max, .243 with handloaded 100 Sierra boattail soft point; at about 175 yards, just behind the head. Thanks for looking! Jeff

    What state?
"An armed society is a polite society"
"...shall not be infringed" What's the confusion?

Did that sierra give you a pass through? Im guessing you were a little above the armour with that neck shot. I have new found respect for the little 243 since I saw a buddy shoot a bear with it, DRT. Thinking mine might be more than just a coyote rifle.

    Nice hog by the way.

It was an easy pass-thru. I had done some penetration tests prior to the hunt. Running the bullet at 2800, with a BAC over .4 there is no explosive expansion. I made sure no pigs were behind him.

Nice trophy Back in feb. of this year my buddy shot a wild boar at 100 yards with a 90 grain hollow point boattail sierra out of a 25'06. He shot the hog in the right eye and we found damage clear back at the rear of the left shoulder. I was amazed at the depth of penetration with a light bullet like that. The hog weighed 285 pounds.

Nice pig; you get "clearance pricing" in preparation for the ban?

I am increasingly appreciative of the kiling power of the smaller bore diameters. I love the quaterbores, but have 2 6mms coming (boys' Sav 243 is already being tested) so some big game will fall to one this year for sure!

    Good show!

No need for clearance, they haven't stopped hunting... yet.

Michigan DNR went on a bender banning all high fence pig hunting, heritage breed farms, etc, as invasive species. It appears they went a little overboard, and the governor reighned them in. The director of the DNR has been reassigned and others are under investigation. Most of the hunting operations have been hunting....

Sportsman Guide has it for less than 20 bucks. For some reason they feature the photo upside down.

That pig was ugly, but he died 'cause he was mean; beating up other piggies.
