    30-06 brass brands

Besides Lapua brass, which always gets rave reviews, but I cannot afford it, so what other brands are usually pretty consistant in weight, thickness, dependability etc?

Handi - We're in the same boat with that subject. I'd love to have a full compliment of Lapua products but....

I already have a mortgage. That stuff is expensive$$$$$$$$

I have a bunch of Hornady brass that I found in the brass can at my local range. Someone apparently has too much money & threw out 34 pieces of 30.06 brass.

I find it to be real consistant with neck thickness & weight per case. I believe it's a little cheaper, too.
My favorite for general purpose has been Federal. Remingtom runs a very close second but, consistancy for both can have quite a spread.
I'm sure you'll find something suitable that will fit the bill. Gotta go. I need to be early at the range to get my favorite lane.

I like the quality of Winchester brass over RP or Federal. Price is usually a bit cheaper for the Winchester too.

OK Winchester or Hornady, both sound good. Notice much difference in capacity compared to the R P or Federal, which is what I usually end up with?

I find the Hornady will hold a greater charge comfortably compared to Rem or Fed brass. Especially with neck sizing only.
