    left hand conversion

I'm a lefty.... I'm fine on a righty rifle but I'd like to convert a 110 or 2 from righty to lefty. Has anyone tried? I'm thinking that all I need is a lefty bolt body after I've relieved the tang (ha ha relieved.. ;D) anyone tried this operation? The boss likes righty while I like lefty; thinking switch barrel switch bolt.

    Re: left hand conversion

I've done it, works great, NOT worth the effort.

It is not just changing the bolt head and handle then cutting the relief for the handle - you are caming into the receiver lugs from the other direction so they have to be cut on the other side - quite tricky since you can't see in there while making a helical cut.

SSS does the conversion - I believe $250 added to the price of the receiver.

A new true left handed action would be less expensive and more satisfactory than converting an existing right handed action. As noted, it's not a simple bolt change and you would also have to modify the stock.
