New Style Cheapo Trigger?

I recently picked up a very recent production (judging from the fact that this is the highest serial number I have personally seen yet) Long Action Chambered in 300WM. This was the model with the DBM and NO Accu-trigger. I have since parted this out, as I only wanted the action, and I noticed that the trigger is nothing like the other pre/non accu-trigger Savage/Stevens guns I have built from in the past. Below are a couple of pics showing the trigger. In the first pic the top action is a Accu-trigger model, and the lower one is the LA. In the 2nd pic, top is the Accu-trigger and bottom is the LA trigger.

My mission was to see just how similar these are and if they are interchangeable. So I switched the triggers (as pictured in the 2nd pic) on the actions and both worked respectively. Other than the safety screws needing adjusting to the new action (which I was not inclined to do due to having the Accu-trigger model set just as I like it) they worked perfectly and the trigger pull got noticeably lighter and more crisp. I guess my question is:

Has anyone else seen one of this style of plain trigger?

Yes, this is an exact copy of the AXIS trigger. This is on the most recent Stevens 200 I bought in February.

A "poor boy" fix on that trigger is to switch out the rear most spring (tension spring) and find suitable length 10-24 screw and install it in the the original tension spring sort of screws into. If it works like my model 11, you have to cut that screw head off and shorten the shank to just about flush with the underside of the arm. The reason being is that if it's not cut down enough ......... it hits the stock.

Then find yourself an ink pen with a suitable spring and fashion it over the screw you just installed. A bit of work with a sharp pair of side cutters and a small pair of needle nosed pliers and you have what many are doing to the Axis and Edge rifle's triggers.

I did this with one of my new model 11's and used the rifle for a few days but was not happy with it.

Then I took the plunge and bought my first accutrigger from a good member here.

I am not looking back ......... it's all accutriggers for these same equiped rifles. In fact, I have found some precision accutriggers coming as well to try.

A lot of folks don't like the accu blade but I was "raised" on Matt Canjar's single set trigger on my 788 and MANY coyotes paid a heavy price in front of that gun!!

I am not "blade shy" ............ glad some folks are ........... gives me a field of used accutriggers to chose from!!

I absolutley love the accutrigger as well. I'm always saying I wish there was a way to install one on my Winchester super x2 turkey gun, and my handi rifle in 45-70!

Count me in as a person who hates the AT.

Hate that miserable blade crutch.

My worked two screw is a much better trigger than any AT I've ever felt.
