I know you asked about a LA, but I stuck one on my 10FP.
I needed a slightly longer front action screw, otherwise fits perfectly. Now I can shoot 175SMK's at the 1K gong all day with all but zero kick.

Didn't come with replacement screws, but I had one that worked from my various pile O Savage parts.

    Re: choate

I tried one of their Ultimate Sniper stocks, but found that the protrusion running aft from the pistol grip rubbed on my wrist bone. Not comfortable for me. I just ordered the Ultimate Tactical stock; looks like a decent copy of the McMillan A5, but with an aluminum bedding block like a HS Precision or Stockade. Stock should be here next week, and I got it with the CDI Precision bottom metal to use AI mags. I'll post pics on the build after it's all finished.

    Re: choate

i really lke my tactiacl stock. very comfortable to shoot. what is the protrusion that you are talking about, is it plastic or metal? could you file it down to smooth it out or is it neccesary to the stock?

    Re: choate

It's the piece that runs from the bottom of the pistol grip to the buttplate.

put super sniper on my 10fp 300wsm.perfect fit and it adjusted to fit me perfectly.with bushnell elite 10x40 my groups went from 3/4 to 1/2 in.love everything about this stock.love it or hate it,for the price 190.00 and it also came with new screws and two cheek pieces,it does the job.also have model 110 30-06 heavy barrel in the varmint, both are outstanding.the 300wsm is my long range target, hitting consistantly at 750 yards at 16x16 steel plate

    Re: choate

Got my Choate Tactical and CDI bottom metal package deal today from Tacticalworks. I don't know why I waited so long to purchase one of these things (stock or bottom metal). The stock is flat-out ergonomic as all get-out, and the bottom metal is machined to perfection. I can't wait to get all my parts put together to complete my 6.5x47 Lapua repeater...

    Re: choate

you will love that stock as you have already noticed its comfortable. hope the bottom metal works out for you. i have not done a build with any magazines. mine have always been the blind so i dont know how all that works, but still good luck with it.

    Re: choate

I read the sniper is heavier than the tactical, which I love for target but would not tote hunting. Seems like I saw the varmint is lighter that the sniper, which seemed strange since they look very similar in the pictures. Does anyone know the true weight comparisons; I don't believe all the ads I have seen.

    Re: choate

i think the main reason i have found is that the sniper you can adjust the butt pad point of contact for your shooting position and there is a 1/2 " metal block that is heavy. i noticed i could but my tactical but plate in there, but i would have to switch screw points

    Re: choate

i have thought of tearing into the stock in some spots to reduce some of the weight maybe with a dremmel.

    Re: choate

I've noticed that my Tactical forend is pretty heavy. I might have to see where I can run a mill in there to reduce some weight.

i took the demmel to it and took a bit off. the biggest piece that is weighing the gun down i hope i can switch out to plastic or do something.
