Bottom Metal versus bolt release type?

I did a search and could not find the answer, so I will ask. If I missed a thread that already answers this question, please let me know.

My question is about Savage center-feed actions only: Is there an actual difference in the bottom metal (either Hinged floorplate or DBM) between Savage rifles with the side-of-the-receiver bolt releases, and those with the pushbutton-in-triggerguard bolt release?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Maybe I'm missing something but you answered your own question- the side release will not have a release in the bottom metal while the newer style with bottom release- will have the release in the metal.

Yes, there is a difference at the rear where the trigger guard lays on top of the magazine frame. The one designated for a trigger guard bolt release is deeper to accommodate the thicker trigger guard. The original side bolt release uses the standard trigger guard. You can use the newer version with a standard trigger guard by using a shim washer to raise the trigger guard up flush.
