Thread pitch for FHSAK in 308

Does anyone know what the thread pitch is for this rifle (it has the threaded barrel and adjustable brake on it)? I am looking to see what other types of brakes fit on it. Thanks...Ron

    Dont have your answer,

I have the larger diameter brake in my hand now, but I also have a 300rum with the smaller diameter that is probably the same as your 308. However, I just removed and replaced it and did not identify the treads at the time. So Savage has at least 2 different thread for their muzzlebrakes.

the larger one is 5/8-28, I think the smaller one is 9/16-??

    30cal should be 5/8-24.

maybe for a 30cal in varmint contour, but my 300rum, (~.7"barrel dia) is a smaller thread than my 375 brake.

I was abruptly taught this because I ordered a factory brake for the 37 barrel, the sent the correct inner sleeve that threaded on the barrel but the outer sleeve was too small and would not fit over the inner sleeve.

did they tell you the pitch of the smaller brake's thread?

Are you going to replace your factory brake, I like them for the option of twisting it to OFF for hunting without ear protection and find the recoil reduction on my 300rum is very noticable. I wont say you can see your hit, but would not expect that with that heavy of a hitter anyway. The one downside I see is for bipod prone shooting and the 360deg blast pattern but I do not shoot that way ever. After a quick search found none to be available aftermarket or used takeoffs, I called Savage CS and they were able to sell me a new factory brake.

BTW, my replacement outer sleeve came yesterday and it is the correct one. Thanks to Savage CS, they think the wrong part was in the wrong bin when the initial order was gathered. This outer sleeve has a different color, more of a brown than the silver SS.
