I've only recently seen them listed on their site where you could actually place an order for one. I know they've been saying for years that they were going to make them though.

Why paint a laminate!? I like the wood myself, and it should be sufficiently durable. But to each his own. I too want to get a Hogue with the aluminum bedding block. Most people who have the aluminum ones love them. On other forums some are very snarky about them, and if you don't spend $600 on a stock then you aren't worthy. They are out of stock everywhere, Midway has them listed at $190 (unknown date available) they wont even backorder it, the Hogue site has them listed at 290.

Does the hogue stock feel the same as the stock they make for the 10/22?

Not sure about the 10/22 but it feels the same as the one I have on my M77 MKII. However, the forearm feels a little more narrow.

Does anyone know if a shillin varmint contour will fit in the heavy barrel channel with out sanding. If it does need to be opened up a little bit my only concern would be that the overmolded rubber would peel. Does anyone have any insight to that.

I e got one on a remmy 25-06. It's the full bed block model and I really like it. Fit was great and it's definately tack on the dewy damp mornings. I got the od camo looking model

Mine's a large shank, Savage Varmint contour and it fits but with little room to spare. Not sure how that compares to Shilen's contour but I would say if it's a shouldered barrel and it doesn't taper much from the shoulder it might be tight.
