    10fp 20" newbie handloading help.

    Hi guys,

I recently picked up a 10fp with the 20" bull barrel. It has been producing MOA with FGMM but I would like to start handloading. Do you guys have any tips / loads that work for a similar setup. I am a complete newbie so please have patience...we all have to start somewhere.

    Cheers,
    Hougie

Varget and anything in the 165-175 range seem to work well in a .308. Ramshot Tac is also an excellent choice.
    More shooting, less typing.

With that shorter barrel a little bit faster powder like H4895 will work well.

    Thanks guys.
What are your preferences on brass? I will probably reload the federal to start with.

I have the same gun, 20" bull L.E model and stay well under MOA out to 200yds..
Load of choice 150gr.SMK,41gr. IMR4895 Federal gm match brass(2.5 cases donated by lazy P.D. that left it all over the floor at the range).
I also have it's twin in 223 and it shoots even better.

As for brass, Nosler is good as is Winchester, Hornady, Lapua and Norma.

Remington and Federal is good to start with but will get loose primer pockets after a few firings. If you can get a lot of it cheap enough then it won't hurt to stay with it.
