    shell holders

The price of shell holders seems to be a bit on the high side. Is there a difference between brands as some are twice the cast of others?

most have a slight difference in shape some where, to set then apart form other brands. May be on the underside to work with there hand primers, or on the top thickness to work with there sizing dies. They all fit standardized presses.

I prefer Redding shell holders over the rest of them. They are machined in a way that allows the case to slide in easily. The quality is top notch. I think they might be a buck or two more than RCBS but I feel they are more than worth the difference.

You'll invariably end up with more than a few that are "interchangeable", meaning that they fit multiple cartridges and you have a few shell holders. Be careful with that and using your dies that are locked down. The shell holders have different dimensions and will toy with your sanity if you aren't careful.
