    Model 12 LRPV

    I have aquired a Model 12 LRPV in .223.

It has all the features that I would expect except the X-Tra Heavy Barrel is not fluted.

I really like the left port.

    Man, is it heavy.

Is the non fluted barrel at all unusual?

Non fluted is the norm on that one.
    More shooting, less typing.

    Mine is fluted. It's a 7 twist. What's yours?

They shoot great 1/4 MOA is the norm. Mine loves 80gr. Noslers.

I agree! Mine loves the 77SMK's. I am about to test the 80A-max for F-Class use.

Pretty sure the fluting on them is just in the past year or so. Any that are older than that did not have flutes.

That would make sense as the person I got it from said the 1 in 7 twist was not available when he got this.

Have you shot it yet? I just acquired a Savage 9 twist and am going to try the 77SMK's in it. What weight are you shooting. Mine is only a 21" barrel.

An average outing. If 1/4" is the norm, I better get to work

    Best so far...
