Where's the heck is my REAR BAFFLE ASSY on my 12 FV ???????????

I only use my rifle to shoot at the Range,
From my place to the range she’s in the hard case,
Yesterday I notice something strange, was looking at her; And OMG something's missing but what???
Look on-line to figure it out, my REAR BAFFLE ASSY is OUT!
But WHERE is it? And what happen?
Is it common people lose this part, is it falling apart once in a while?
Fortunately called Savage this morning 25$ with shipping is not too bad, But really, what happened???

It had to have fallen off when you had the bolt out of the action. Probably under the bench at the range.

If the ball bearing in it is worn it can have some play and be a little loose, but I have never seen one fall off.

I'm baffled! 8) Seriously though, any chance of a prankster lurking at the range? I have the same rifle and mount, been shopping for rings, are those Burris? What height?

    GO for the LOW

I had the same thing happen to my model 11 in 300 wsm, it was brand new and the detent ball had fallen out as i was bringing it home from the gun store. I took it back the next day and we just pulled one off of another rifle and he called savage and they said ya no problem and sent him some replacements. I know it was on the rifle at the store but when I got it home and took it out of the box it was gone. I have know idea what happened.
