    139 Grain 260 Corbons

    Good Morning,

I've been doing a lot of load development with heavier bullets in my 260, 1-8 twist 28" CBI barrel, and I have had very little success so far. I started my last range trip out by shooting some 139 gr Corbon Scenars to get my new scope on paper, and to warm up the barrel. Just for kicks, I shot some 5 shot groups at 300 yards to see how they did, and to my amazement, they were lights out. The two 5 shot groups averaged just under 1.5", and so far my best hand load groups were 3" at 300 yards.

Sooooooooo, my question is, has anyone pulled the 139 grain bullet out of the Corbons and checked out what powder they are using, and what their load is? I know I can do it, but I thought I'd check to see if anyone one else had done it before I tore up a $2.00 round.

Thanks in advance for any load data, Ken

I only handload for the .260 so I don't know for sure but I would assume Corbon would be running H4350. Have you done any ladder or OCW test during you load development? I found these to be crucial in developing a load, rather than my old way of guessing and pissin in the wind. $2 is a steal if it saves countless hours, primers, powder, bullets to duplicate what you know your rifle likes.
