    mc gowan barrels

    i just ordered two more barrels to be done

    1= 28 " .22-250 ai, blued, medium weight sporter, 1:12 twist

    2= 30" .6-284, blued, heavy varmint so i can have re set if needed, 1:9 twist to shoot the 95 grn bergers 3500 or so

    any suggestions on loads for either? in the 22-250 i would like to shoot bullets fromm 55-60grains

    I don't have an AI but do shoot a straight 22-250 26" 1:12. I also tend to shoot the slower end powders for the 250 range, Ramshot Big Game, W760 and Rl17 which are also recommended for the AI. Mine loves Big game and 760, still testing RL17 but looks promising. For bullets I'd recommend the 52smk(highly accurate), 55nbt, 53vmax and 64berger. The last 3 prove to be accurate and offer good b.c. for their weight range. Berger states the 64 grainer will stabilize in a 1:12 22-250 and has in mine. With the added speed of the AI it shouldn't be a problem.
