Model 11F 243 convert to 22-250

I'm new to owning a savage and love it. I am wondering can I convert my model 11F from 243 to 22-250
Or even .308. I'm under the impression that one can change out the barrel to one of these other calibers since they are .308 base casing. Like going from .22 mag to .17 hmr or vise versa. Or is there more to it.

No, a barrel is all you need. All the cartridges mentioned will feed through the existing magazine. You could also consider the 260 Rem and 7mm-08.

Don't forget go, no-go gauges. I know a lot of folks want to save money by using a sized cartridge, but I like to make sure mine meets industry standards, and I want to have no doubts in MY mind.

I don't trust headspacing off a sized cartridge. OK, let me say that I don't trust ME using a sized case, if it works for others fine. I always use a go gage, but I do not use a no-go. Instead I use Scotch tape on the head of the go gage. Works perfectly. I bought the no-go for my first barrel swap out of fear that the tape wouldn't work. After trying it both with the no-go and the tape, I found the tape works perfectly. Here is one place that I can save money and still be safe.
