    Savage 99"M"

    Hello,
I have a new to me Savage 99 in 300 Savage. It was made in Chicopee Falls and the barrel says it's a 99M. It has the regular (not schnabel) forearm and a buttstock with a raised cheek piece. Under the lever boss is the stamping " 10N ". The serial number is 104xxxx.

I went to this site http://savagela.org/ and looked at the pictures of all the models. There is no "M" model that I could find, but mine looks exactly like the 99DL.

Can you guys tell me anything about my rifle?

Some guys on another forum just told me this is a 1964 model 99DL, and that the M stands for monte carlo stock.
