There has been all kinds of different torque specs tried on the MKII for best accurcy.

So far we hve found that splitting the torque, the bolt in the bottom metal being twice the torque of the rear bolt hs been very good.

You will need to get the heavy bottom metal, you should anyway and it does not hurt to bed the action.

A good starting point is 18 IP on the bolt on the bottom metal and 9 IP on the rear, tang bolt. You can experiment from there, but keeping the rear bolt approx half the torque of the front seems to work best.

Do get some PURPLE Loc Tite for the bolt threads, it will keep them from moving, but you can still change the torque settings, don't use the blue, after a while, it tends to hurt the threads in the action. Without Loc Tite, the bolts will move as you shoot.

All guns are different, this is a good starting point and you can fine tune from there.

I had one that just liked being torqued slightly firm in the stock, so they do vary.
