looking for help with model 1899 .303 savage.

Hoping to get some help . I've got a .303 savage model 99 with a half round - half octagon 24" barrel and i need to find out the proper height of the front site... it has "express sights" and before it gets refurbished i'd like to make sure it's factory. thank you for any help you out there can provide.

Your first problem is the 24" barrel, they came with 26" barrels so I'm guessing the front sighht was probably changed.

Never seen express sights on an 1899 from the factory yet either.
