Needed to open mounting holes on my new EGW HD base

After many weeks of waiting for a backorder on a EGW HD 20 moa base for my 10-fcp-k it finally arrived today.
Well the mounting holes seem to be slightly off as they didn't line up exactly on my rifle.
The misalignment was enough to cause a bit of binding when tightening the the mounting bolts.
So the fix was to take a .147" bit and open up the holes on the mount just ever so slightly.
Anybody else have this situation with their EGW or any other one piece base ?
Does anybody know of any issues opening the holes slightly may cause ?

Is the base off or the receiver?

Realize that if you open up the holes, you'll be hard pressed to make sure that the base is straight on the receiver. Also you have to ensure adequate contact surface with the screws to ensure that the base doesn't move around. If it does move, precision is right out the window since the base will move between shots and your POI will move with it.

The base has counter sunk holes so the screws still have plenty of mating surface.

You'll have to "adjust" the countersinks as well or the screws will just recenter themselves with relation to the old holes.

Yep I understand that, but for some reason just opening up the holes slightly relieved the binding when installing the screws.
Not perfect but I believe a workable solution as the screws tightened nicely at 20 inch pounds.

You should be fine. The misalinment is more than likely a warpped action. It happens.
