Model 10 Precision Carbine vs Model 11 Hog Hunter. Why a $300 difference?

Both of these rifles intrigue me because of their short barrels. What I don't understand is why the PC is so much more expensive. The only big differences I can see are the accu-stock and the box magazine. A digital camo paint job can't be worth the extra $150 can it?

    Any ideas?

I think the stock has a lot to do with the price difference. The Hog and Alaskan Hunter looks like the Stevens 200 stock, and I'd sure hate to use that one in the .338 Win and .375 Ruger. Plus If they are going to thread the barrel for a "Can" on the Hog Hunter I'd would have at least added the .300 AAC Blackout to the line. 175-220 grain sub sonic bullets with suppressor and nightvision would make one mean pig thumper IMO but I guess you could always thread a muzzle brake on as well for your magnum chambers. I would have liked to have seen Ghost Ring rear sights on both the Hog and Alaskan Hunters as well over the current set up.

pretty sure the accustock and the magazine are the primary difference. looks like the hawg hunter has the old style bolt release, too.

Can't buy another short rifle. Can't buy another short rifle. Can't buy another short rifle.

Ah, none in stock at Bud's...safe for now.

It seems like the Hog Hunter is the way better value then. I'm sure a decent stock and a good bedding job can be had if the green one really bothers you.

that is an expensive paint job because the local gunshop has 2 model 200's one camo and one grey. grey one is 299 camo is 409

It is simple, it is called marketing.
Its the same reason why a sporter barrel rifle is cheaper than a heavy barreld rifle when the sporter barreled rifle requires more machining, extra steps, and a highly trained, experinced person to straighten them.
The profit margines are the same, it is called what someone will pay for the product.
