    Axis @100 yards

I have this gun zeroed at 200 but was shooting at 100 getting it sighted in with the new scope .
    Remington UMC FMJ's .223 , 55 gr 3 shot group with 7 mph wind
Im more than impressed with these cheap rifles they seem to perform as well as higher priced rifles out there , yes they need some trigger work due to the heavy trigger pull , but I spent about 30 min and $3 and fixed that myself .
I didnt measure but Im calling this a .75" 3 shot group based off the 1" squares

Congratulations - mine will do about 1.6" @ 100 yds with AM Eagle 55 gr FMJBT, the only ammo I have tried.

But then - maybe you are a better shot!

If you guys can find some winchester (white brick) 45gr hps, they usually shoot fantastic from savages. Walmart used to have them but since the Iraq war , I have not seen them anywhere.

I dont know if you reload but you will find they shoot great at least the ones I have seen and shot. I rebarreled a 223 Axis to 20-223AI with the fire forming loads its shooting right at 5/8" five shot groups, I couldnt be more pleased, first chance I get Im buying another Im not sure if it will stay 223 but I dont have to be convinced it will shoot. I had to do the same thing to my trigger it wouldnt even read on my trigger gage now it brakes at 2 1/4 pounds and it will do it every time.....I like em!

I dont reload but I do save my brass , simply because if I ever decide to go down that road I wont need to look for brass.

I'm sure that there are some "Premium" 223's out there some where. If your gun is shooting like that with the inexpensive ammo imagine what it would do if you reloaded or shot Premium ammo. I caught a lot of greef from friends about building on the Axis, but now that they see how mine shoots there wanting one too. I think my next one will be a .204.
