Some Savage Model 10 Precision Carbine Questions

Hey guys, I did a search, but still have some questions unanswered...please help. (I think the Model 10 is 110 based, right?)

I'll be ordering a Mod 10 Precision Carbine in .223 soon. Some things I'll need immediately are an EGW scope mount. At Midway, they're listed as 'round rear section' or 'flat rear section.' Which one is this rifle?

Later, I'll be considering higher capacity mags. I saw at SSS they have some, but I am unclear as to whether their system will support .223, and if so, what exactly to buy.

Thx for the help, I'm a newb to Savage firearms......but so far, I do lover their stuff!

Pretty much anything after 2004 is 'round rear' or 'accutrigger'. There might be some in-betweeny ones out there, but thats generally the cut-off. The 10PC is 10 based (short action), not 110 based (long action).

The model ten is a short action, 110's are long actions. Just look at your reciever, if the rear is round that, obviously, is a round rear reciever. Yours will undoubtedly be a round reciever.

OK, thanks.....but the 10 is based off the 110, correct? Therefore, I'm in the correct subforum? I need to know this also for future selection of any aftermarket upgrades.

Anybody know any magazine options for this rifle in .223? I'm not clear on SSS's website, and haven't found any other options for Model 10 PC mags, higher cap mags, etc. Thx for any further help.

Anything with an accutrigger will have a round rear.
I know SSS was working on 223 magazines for their acme system, but I don't know if they offer them yet, best thing to do is give them a call, or e-mail.

Thank you. I love Savage....I think they do a really good job selling nice rifles at a great price, but I am having a very slow learning curve with all their nomenclature.

One thing to watch out for is the bottom bolt release. Not quite as many "toys" out there for them yet.
