6.5-284 Loads

Anyone got any good 6.5-284 loads. I was thinking of shooting 123gr A-Max and using 4831SC

I'm up for anything that works good. Pics or groups and loads would be great.

I am interested, I just accuired a 6.5x284 and buiilding a 284 winny!

I am using H4350 with Hornady 140 SST. Hodgdon has a much lower load than the above link and the velocities are much lower than I wanted so have been slowly working above Hodgdon load levels. I want to get 2850fps out of a 24" barrel and have not reached that level.

51.5gr H4831sc, 140gr SST, Lapua brass, and Fed210M out of a 24" Predator Hunter runs at 2842fps cold bore and up from there a bit with 5-shot groups. We started at 48gr and worked up from there. Consistant 1" 5-shot groups at 200yds from a bench and bags.

What model gun factory or custom built. I have three 6-5 284 Two savage 6-5 norma 284 One f-class the other long range hunter. The f class shoots about what i see other people post with 140 gr bullets 51 gr or so 4831sc my long range hunter opens prim poc with same bullets powder and pri at 48.5 gr. I bought factory norma 6-5 284 140gr pationed loads shot three in my LRH left one in chamber the other two were hard bolt lift and opened poc. also what twist barrel are you shooting.

I had a load for my 6.5 283 with 123 lupua was using vv 560 fed 210m bug hole 3400 fps out of 28" kreiger, also shot the 140 great.

tops load so work up.
