Custom Build, Savage SA Target 3 pillar action, RB, RP any socks?

Contacted Stocky's and a few other sponsors, they do the Target action but don't do the RB RP.

    Bought my Barrel from Savage-Barrels it's a 1-9 .223 1" at the muzzle fluted.

Does anybody have a stock for the Savage target SA (3 pillars) RBRP? no thumbhole as I shoot lefty...

Might need to just do it myself from a blank?

    Thanks.

I have a RBLP LRPV action in a Savage Benchrest stock that I bought from Jim Briggs on this site. (Northland)

A stock for a standard centerfeed short action will fit the target action as well(4.400" screw spacing). You can either just not use the center action screw, or add a middle pillar and fill in the magwell with bedding compound.

I have done this with numerous target actions and have seen NO accuracy loss by not using the middle screw.

This option opens you up to alot more availability of stocks.

Thanks guys, I now have some options. PDog06 I never heard that, sounds like it defeats the 3 pillars. But if what you say is

    true it's not needed?

    Terry, thanks,

    Don

My experience is the same as pdog06, i have used 4.4 two screw stocks on target actions and can tell no accuracy difference as well.

Contact Fred at SSS. He can build a stock.

Manners does inlet for 3 pillar target actions. There are several bolt spacings out there for the Savages right now, policy just changed that target action Savages need to be sent in for fitting to make sure that we send you the stock with the correct inlet. Give us a call at 816.283.3334.
