    243 std twist 95 Bergers?

Tried to put some hunting loads together, couple of different powders. No luck. My lighter loads are sub moa but 95 gr Bergers are a shotgun pattern. I haven't shot them into the rifling or is my barrel twist not right? Thanks for any info. Idahojoe

I am using those solidly passed 500 yds giving me .4 inch at 100

the bullet and rifle can do further but I couldn't hit steel at 750 or 1000.
I've tried in the lands by .010" but just touching the lands has done me best so far. I've heard of some people going as much as .100" or more
Hey mark I've got a box of those 105 A-max's I'm about to do some load testing on. Where would you suggest starting at with IMR 4350? Are you jumping those?

Thank you for the info, loaded some setting out further and will check them out. 140 Bergers out of my 6.5x284 shoot fantastic and I really like what they do on game. IJ

Joe, are the Bergers making clean holes in the paper or are they making oblong/silhouette holes. If the holes are clean then your twist is just fine. As I stated in another thread, twist determines stability not accuracy. The Bergers are long bullets for their weight, a 95 grn BT may shoot well but it seems your barrel likes the lighter choices.
    More shooting, less typing.

I shoot 95 grain VLD's out of my 12bvss 243. I am using IMR4350 and seating .010 in the lands. Not sure the charge or velocity I am away from the bench for a few days. It shoots in one hole at 100 and less than 1.5" at 500. The bullet would not shoot under a inch until I jammed it. .010 was the magic number more or less didnt do as well. The 9.5 factory twist is more than enough. Matt
