Another potential problem is having the smooth nut finish up so the hole is hidden when the headspace is correct. It's strictly an appearance thing but isn't that the purpose of the smooth nut? The fluted nuts don't matter how they are oriented when tight since they are symetrical all around.Originally Posted by Armed in Utah

Midway has all the different style barrel nuts
i like the look of the factory barrel nut, i think it gives a rifle a distinguished look ;D
