    2012 Savage models

For anyone that wants a sneak peek of the 2012 product line head on over to the Zanders Sporting Goods website at www dot gzanders dot com. Once you get to the homepage click on "consumer catalog." Once the new page loads, scroll down the column on the left side and select "rifles." After that, scroll down to "Savage Bolt CF rifles" and click the link. Go to the third page and look for all the items with a red star beside them, as they are new for 2012. I won't mention any of the models here in case someone prefers to wait for the official announcement on Nov. 2nd. I will say that I am intrigued by some of the new offerings. Enjoy.

Wish they would come out with some more south paw models. :'(
They who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

Interesting that they show "Lady Hunter" models and "Hog Hunter" models, I don't know what that means ::).

Looking at the models shown i see a rifle with 300 AAC Blackout (7.62x35) which is a 223 necked up to 30 cal. very new round also work in an AR fit in the mag. all you need is change of barrel to shoot.

Roger that. If they can't/won't, then I guess I'll have to look at Tikkas and Rugers. A Bear Hunter in lefty would trip my trigger.

You get the lady hunter when you are wanting to "bag" a lady.
The hog hunter when you want to shoot a noisey Harley bike of course.

I'd be more than happy with some Model 11 package guns chambered in .260 Rem....

+100 Me too. They already make the actions both ways so what's the problem?

Sales volume. You guys make up what, 15% of the market at most, assuming the average for society carries over directly to the shooting sports.

    Re: 2012 Savage models

Wondering why they chose a 110 action instead of a short action... Barrel length is a bit longer than typical too.. SAAMI standard on the 300 Blackout is 16-16.5"

Its designed to fully burn all powder in the first 10 inches of barrel...

    psst. it also needs 5/8 x 24 threads ;-)

Despite what may sound like complaints, I'm glad to see a Sav chambered in it.. :-)

I wondered why it is in a 110 as well. I haven't done the COAL math but it seems pretty heavy bullets might be right near the mag length in a short action. If anyone has the numbers to run on that please let us know. I am sad that I have absolutely no use and would like to spend my money on more high performance stuff than this new tacticool fad.

Where's an affordable ar10 or reinvention when you need one?

I wish Sav or someone would bring back combination rifles. .22lr + 308/243/.30-06 + 12 gauge = winning

The 300 Blackout was designed to fit into an AR magazine, so I doubt they were anywhere near running out of mag length in a standard short action.

I'm with everyone else... The 110 action is a waste for 300BLK and a 20" barrel is too long. :-\

If I had to guess... I'd wager someone made a typo when putting up that list. It might have been one of their 10 LE models in .300AAC Blackout, vs. a 110.

Yea I originally thought typo too. But then I started dreaming it may be an affordable way to get your hands on a long action with a "tactical" dbm if it comes that way. That would be cool.

    that could be VERY interesting.

I would love to see the Model 25 in 300BLK with a 16" barrel and 5/8x24 threads. Just might have to pick up a 110 300BLK and have the barrel cut back to 16" and re-threaded.
