110/10 Based Rifles vs Axis/Edge differences?

I'm sure this has been answered here before but I can't find any discussions. So, how do the Axis/Edge rifles differ from the 10/110 action rifles. I assume there were some cost-cutting measures but what are the specifics?

The current American Rifleman has a review of the Savage Light Weight Hunter and mentions that some of the Axis technology found its way into a basically 10-based rifle. what were they referring to?

OK, understood. Can you be a bit more specific about the differences?

on a model 10/110 based rifle you have a short action (model 10) or a long action (110) and all of the variants are based on these; 11,111,12,112...etc and there is tons of after market parts for them because theyve been around for years, but the axis/edge is not a short action or a long action, it falls somewhere in between the two.

Although the parts are not interchangable, the trigger and bolt work like the 110 series. I'm not sure why they changed the trigger to be frank.
