I have an edge(axis) in .308 that I took deer hunting with this year, great gun (took a nice 2 point mule deer at 250 yards).
My 12 year old daughter wants to go next year with a tag (she came this year just to watch) and I was thinking of a gun for her...

Was looking at a youth axis in .243, but then I got to wondering if perhaps the youth stock would fit my .308 action, then I could get a new gun for me, and hers could be "new to her" ;D and I could just load some lighter bullets/loads.... I think I would be more comfortable with a 130gr at 2700fps out of a .308 than a 95gr out of a .243 for taking deer in case there is a less than perfect shot....

So basicaly, does anyone know if the youth axis's are just the same action with a 2" shorter bbl in a smaller stock or is there more to it than that?
