I have a new 12FVSS in 270 WSM that I have someone (not on this forum) interested in buying just the barrel. That's good by me, as I want to rebarrel to 300 WSM
I am new to the Savage thing. I know -- you are asking why I would break up a brand new gun and just sell the barrel. Long story -- its the second gun -- first one shot horrible and Savage actually replaced it with a new gun... I am now building a 6.5x284 on a 700 BDL action that I have and the 270 WSM is a little redundant in my arsenel.....
Could anyone give me advice what the barrel is worth?
I figure the barrel is at least as good as a Shaw, and the fluting costs extra. So maybe $200??? Remember its new, unfired, except for a 3 shot test group from Savage showing about a .9" group. That's not bad I'd think for the first three shots from a new factory barrel....
To make this clear -- the barrel and gun are NOT for sale here. Just looking for advice on values...
