You could try some Birchwood-Casey aluminum black. Make sure the are is degreased well and apply with a Q-tip until you get the desired color and wipe with a paper towel. It won't be perfect but better than nothing.
???any brainsstorms on how to cover ring marks on a black matte scope?

Black Sharpie ;D

"...shall not be infringed" What's the confusion?
Yes, that will cover them too but, the sharpie is a bit darker than the scope finish and does show.Originally Posted by 243LRP

Depending on the alloy, the Birchwood Casey gun blue pen will darken scratches in aluminum alloy even though it's made for steel. Another solution is to camo paint your entire scope.
Next time use Burris Signature rings, usually no marks of any kind. Sometimes minor change in the matte finish, sort of a burnished look, but most instances there is nothing left by the rings.

I'm in the process of switching all my rings over to these
Couple rf's, couple cf's, and 1 12g.
