    barrel contouring

can a threaded, chambered, crowned barrel be turned down from lets say a bull contour to a sporter or light magnum contour fairly easily on a lathe? with out having to re chamber, thread or crown?

I do it all the time. It's usually a good idea to touch up the crown.

thats good to hear, cause it wouldnt be anything to re crown.
i can get good barrels in bull barrel or heavy varmint, but i am wanting to make a packing around gun not a driving around gun. i also dont want to waits weeks and weeks or months to get the barrel i would be looking for.
