Savage 111 LRH Metal Finish

Hello All

I'm in the process of doing a barrel swap on my Sav 111 LRH and I'd like to refinish the action while it's all apart. I'd like to know how they achieve the factory matte finish. Or perhaps a do it yourself finish. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

If it is a true matte finish and was bead blasted before bluing,then I would have a decent smith bead blast to smooth any obvious defects and hot blue it.I tried a very high end bluing(cold application) and it took forever to do it and is still thin. Another thing you could do is put it together without the trigger and ceracoat or duracoat in the color you desire.
