    308 bolt face question

I am swapping out the parts on my 223 10FP to 260 Rem. I got the bolt head and baffle along with the ejector, extractor and springs. I bought a 308 bolt head and it seems to have a huge opening at about .535. I stuck a 308 case in and it's swimming around in side. I checked the part number from midway where I got it and it's right. Can someone here tell me if this seems right?

.535" is a magnum bolthead. You want a standard (.473) bolt face.

Great, thank you sharpshooter. I also realized that my firing pin was not protruding...I suppose that is due to receiving the wrong bolt head. The package is marked correctly, but, it's not a 308 face. I will call midway in the morning.

Midway did that to me on two seperated trigger gard orders. It took a nasty gram with the suggestion I would be dealing with Brownells for my parts if they didn't fix it. I suggest that when you notify them and provide the savage number from Brownells.

maybe I should just return it and advise that it's mismarked....and call sharp shooter supply to get the right one.
