    Model 99 DX .308

I'm looking for a gun 99 DX in a .308 caliber. The thing is for the most part where I have looked I can not find a "DX" designation. I see plenty of "CD" and "E" but have yet to come across a DX model. I'm looking for this as a wedding present for one of my buddies back home and I'm sure he said he was looking for a "DX" model but maybe he was mislead or he just doesn't know what the hell he is talking about. Anyways if this is bad information could someone please enlighten me. I appreciate the help.

I have read and referred to the 99 book written as a reference and dont recall any reference to a DX model. He must have had too much wedding cake, or something.

My guess would be a DL. Manufactured from 1960 - 1973. The nicer ones were pre 1965 and they would have had cut checkering. The later models had pressed checkering. Lots out there, keep looking.
