New to me Model 93 WMR

    Hello,

I just picked up a Model 93 WMR heavy barrel today in a trade. It's pre Accu-Trigger with s/n 0148XXX. How can I determine year of manufacture with that s/n? Also, I read some posts regarding series E rifles. How does one determine that? I ask because I'm interested in some minor upgrades such as stock and possibly trigger. Lots of great information in your forums. I have even discovered a few posts referencing a Stevens 87A and Stevens Model 35, both of which I own. Thanks.

E-Series rifles refer to certain centerfire 110's and has nothing to do with rimfires. Not sure who (if anyone) has rimfire serial number records, but it's lower than both my 17HMR and 17 Mach 2 which were bought straight from Savage in 2004 and 2005. My guess would be somewhere between 2000 and 2004.

While E-series doesn't pertain to the model designation of rimfire guns, there is a newer E receiver on the bolt action rimfires that is distinguishable from older receivers by its length. Older receivers measured 7.25" OAL, while the E receivers measure 7.75" OAL.
