Put Peep Sights on my BRJ

I finally put the peep sights installed on the BRJ.
I would have prefered the Lyman sight, but I already had this Williams sight from some time ago so rather than spend another $100, I used it.
I'm really excited about shooting with the peeps, this is a very accurate rifle, so if I can do my part and the wind ever stops blowing, it should shoot some very nice groups.

This is the same rifle that I shot a perfect group with @ 50 yds, 5 shots, the hole measured .222" across. I have not shot another perfect group, but have come very close.
Scott at Savagegunsmithing accurized it for me and it is a tac driver.
I'll post some targets as soon as I can, I'm sure the groups won't be as good as with the target scope, but I've shot some fairly small groups with peeps. If you have not tried shooting Peeps, you should, they are really fun. More of a challange than a scope.
The last pic is of the perfect group. Some skill, for sure some luck and a great rifle.
And yes, the front sight is on backwards, I was in a hurry, hoping to shoot it, but by the time I brough the rifle home, assembled it, it was getting too late to get back to the range. I need to order a taller front sight adapter that goes on the mount anyway.

    My best, John K

    Nice!

If you wouldn't mind, what are the model numbers of those parts? Particularly the bolt-on adapter for the barrel?

I called Brownell's last week regarding a peep sight for my Mark II and they said they didn't have one (neither Williams nor Lyman) that fit the Mark II. What's up with that?

I would also be interested in those parts numbers, and idi you install the sight yourself?

I did it myself, but used the equipment at a friends gunsmithing shop.
You will find all the parts cheaper at Champion Shooters Supply except for the sight band, they don't carry it.
Rather than list all the part #'s go to rimfirecentral.com to the savage section. There is a sticky at the top that has all the info you'll need, it would take me 1/2 hour to type. Call Champion and ask for their catalog, you'll save at least $50.00 on parts over Brownells unless you have an FFL and can get their wholesale price. Champion is even cheaper if you have an FFL.
Read my post there, it contains some more details on the installation.
If you need it installed, call Scott at www.savagegunsmithng.com, he can also do the nice crown mine has.

If you decide to do yours, be sure to post pics.

As accurate as many of the Savage MKII's are, they should really shoot some tight groups with peep sights.
If you have not shot peeps, they are really fun. At 50 yards, 1/2" groups are no problem. I have not shot the Savage yet, but have got groups of 1/2" with no problem with 60 yr old Mossberg rifles. The peeps are much more accurate than most would think.
Just align them and carefully pull the trigger, much more fun than a scope.
