    25-06 AI bullet

Looking for input on the 110 Accubond vs the regular Nosler BT buttlet for my 25-06 AI. I am lookng for a bullet to cover me from antelope to mule deer. I have been playing with the Partition, but haven't gotten the accuracy i am looking for with them. Anyone use both bullets and have any input?
    Thanks
    Jason

i shoot the nosler bt in my 25-06 but you may have issues at close range with the AI. the added velocity may be more than the bt can handle

I shoot the 110's out of my 257 WSM at a tick under 3500 FPS and the have held up well so far.

Thanks for the reply's. I'll give the accubonds a try. I have a lot of Reloader 22, so hopefully i can find a load to work with it.

I would use the Accubonds. I have the Sierra 100gr. SGK at 3005 fps outta my 250-3000 Model 14 and they are perfect for that velocity, kill deer great, etc. . I think at the 500fps faster of the 25-06AI they would come apart, esp. if they hit a bone.

I use 115 Bergers in a souped up 257 Roberts , like what they do in my 6.5. They don't need to exit, just bang-flop. Joe

Yep the 115 Berger is the only way to go.

this year I used some old stock, 120gr solid base boattail nosler. a lot better than the ballistic tips, but I dont think they make them anymore.

    Why not try thr partitions?
    they stay together.

    Re: 25-06 AI bullet

partitions just arent accurate in my gun either, but ive shot 117gr sierra spitzer, 117gr Hornady Interlock, 120gr HPBT sierra, 110gr accubonds, and 120gr nosler solid base boattail trying to find a bigger and better bullet than the 100gr NBT. All shot better than the partition, my gun just didnt like them. Of the big bullets the old 120gr Nosler Solid Base Boattail shot the best. They shot as good as the ballistic tips and accubonds. I read somewhere that they are the ballistic tips with a soft point. I would shoot the accubonds but I just cant see giving 50 cents a piece for those things when they dont shoot any better or kill any deader than the solid base. I dont think they make them anymore but Ive got about 600 of them

Haven't been on for a while, so I didn't see this thread keep going. I did end up finding a load for the 100gr partitions with RL22 that shoots really good. Laid the smack to 6 deer with them and no complaints.

Holy cow what are you doing to get 'em going THAT fast??? That is .257 Roy territory!

To the OP are you referring to the 100 or 115 gr NBT? I've heard really good things about both of those projectiles.

I've found that the 100 gr Interlock is FANTASTIC in terms of how it holds up on game as well as accuracy-wise. The 110 gr AB is shooting nicely from my Vangard in 257 Weatherby Mag, but I haven't hit anything alive with it yet.

    Good luck,

    efw

I have used a 117gr Sierra FBSP and it was very effectice as a 25-06. When I went to 25-06AI at about 3300fps they are very expolosive. This year I am going to try working up loads for the 115gr Barnes. Anyone used the Barnes bullet?

I shot the bt for years with good results, However I did switch to the accu-bond it appears to maintain is weight better after impact.
