    Savage 340 Feeding problems

Hi, I'm new to the forum and savage bolt actions guns. I found a great looking 340 in 30-30 at a gun show and had to have it. When I got it home the ammo would not feed from the magazine box. The ammo is either cocked to high for the barrel of to low. Can anyone give me help with this problem?

Probably your magazine is faulty, with sprung feed lips, a lazy follower spring, or some such. Try another magazine. Wisner's has them, and they're always showing up on the net.

I have same problem I ordered a new magazine but it hasn't arrived yet. I have been only loading one round in magazine and then loading a round in the chamber. close bolt then insert magazine, making it a two shot gun.
