    Headspace Gage Interchangability

Probably a stupid question-Can a .223 Rem go gage be used to set headspace in a .223 AI? Please don't be cruel--I just hate to buy both if I don't have to. Thanks, Steve

No the headspace on the AI should be .004 shorter than the parent round. I have read you can use the.223 go gauge for the .223AI no go.

That .004" gives the slight crush fit needed to get a good fireform.

    +1 to shane.

The go gauge for the parent can be used as the no-go on the AI counter part. But u do need the actual AI go gauge for the chambering.
