    New Mark II Tack Driver

Took the the new Mark II FSS out of layaway yesterday.

EGW Picatinny rail base with Burris Medium Zee rings. Inexpensive Simmons 3x9x40 scope.

    What a terrific training rifle/varmint-slayer/plinker!

Zeroed at 25 yards at the range with some Appleseed targets both my 14 year old lad and I were able to get several under 1/2" 5 and 10 shot groups with plain ol' CCI Mini-Mags. The rifle is a tack driver!

This is my second Savage rifle and just like the .308 this one shoots fantastic. The company is producing great quality at very good prices. They can't be beat.

Try some wolf target match ammo sometime.

My rifle shoots that ammo 1/4" at 25 yds, 1/2 to 3/4 at 50 yards and 1 to 1.5" at 100.

My rifle shoots normal ammo a good bit more open.

    Tammons,

Took out some Wolf Match, CCI Select Match, and Elley. All shot terrific, all had at least 1/4" grouping or less at 25 yards. I bought a brick of the Wolf and now look at me - ;D

    Thanks for the tip!

Check out the target in the post on Peeps on a BRJ.
It was a perfect 5 shot group @ 50 yds using Wolf MT. I have not shot another, but have come darn close. These MKII's can be very accurate. Not as refined as something like a CZ, but with a little work will shoot right with one, sometimes better.
The smith that worked on mine made a good difference in the accuracy. Much does depend on how good the barrel etc. is to sart with. I got one heck of a good barrel.

    My Best, John
