Savage P.A.D. failure

I bought a new accutrigger 308 for my wife last year. It came with Savage's proprietary P.A.D. recoil pad on the synthetic stock. We put it in the cabinet a few months ago, and when I took it out the other day the heel of the pad just fell off. It had sheared off right at the screw hole. Is this a common problem for them? And will savage send me a new one? My wife really liked the pad.

any of those soft pads are to be stored muzzle down. I know its tough because cabinets are not set up that way. call them up they may take care of that
